More than a thousand households already use the Hungarian-developed ADA P1 Meter for more conscious energy use
In recent times, it has become increasingly important for more Hungarian households not only to see their electricity bill but also to understand what is actually happening behind the scenes. The Debrecen-developed ADA P1 Meter provides the answer, which today helps more than 1000 active users to make their electricity consumption more transparent and conscious.
The ADA P1 Meter is entirely Hungarian-developed, built on market principles with in-house engineering work – not a grant project, not an experiment, but a real device used daily.
Real-time data, real decisions
The ADA P1 Meter connects to the P1 port of digital electricity meters and shows in real time when, on what, and how much electrical energy a household consumes. Our goal was never just data collection but to help users make decisions with these data presented in a comprehensible form.
When someone sees consumption graphs live for the first time, it often becomes clear that it is not a single large consumer raising the electricity bill, but many small continuous loads.
Hidden consumers, visible data
Our experience is that behind high electricity bills, there are often several smaller, constantly operating devices. With the ADA P1 Meter, these “invisible” loads can be well identified, resulting in measurable savings even in the short term in many households.
From monitoring to control
The system does not stop at data display. The built-in rule system allows for simple timed controls and automations that can shift consumption to more favorable periods.
This is especially advantageous for households using photovoltaic systems, where the coordination of production and consumption is a key issue.
The path towards market-based energy sales
The next step is no longer just about consumption. We work in partnership with one of Hungary's innovative small-scale producer aggregators, as a result of which in 2026 the administration related to market and stock exchange-based electricity sales may appear in our applications.
This means that owners of household-sized power plants – primarily photovoltaic systems – will be able to handle matters related to selling produced energy on the market easily and conveniently, on a single platform.
Simple installation, no electrician required
Installing the ADA P1 Meter requires no electrical work or external power supply: the device only needs to be connected to the electricity meter's P1 port and can be used within minutes.
This is not a trick or a “magic tool,” but direct, real-time access to data from the electricity meter.
Users get an accurate picture of their home's current consumption, phase loads, feed-in levels, and even the status of reactive power.
In households where the electricity meter cabinet is sealed and thus the P1 port is not accessible, access to the P1 port can be requested from the distribution company, enabling the use of such measuring devices.
More conscious energy use, tangible results
The philosophy behind the ADA P1 Meter is not to “automate everything” but to provide users with understandable data. Feedback shows that in many households, significant changes have already occurred simply by making visible what happens inside the electricity meter cabinet.
The ADA P1 Meter example clearly shows that conscious energy use does not necessarily start with big investments. Often it is enough for households to see precisely what is happening in their electrical network – and with the data in hand, they make their own decisions.

Üdvözlöm a fejlesztöket!
Engem pontosan érdekelne 1- 31-ig havonta a fogyasztás.
