P1 Meter
P1 meters connect to the smart meter’s data port following the DSMR (Dutch Smart Meter Requirements) standard, typically via a 6P6C RJ12 connector. The P1 port continuously provides consumption and grid data (e.g. live power, import/export, tariff/OBIS fields), which the P1 meter makes available in real time.
Why it’s convenient
- No external power required: the P1 meter is powered directly from the P1 port (plug-and-play).
- Easy connection: standard RJ12 (6P6C) cable – no soldering, no hassle.
- Real-time data: instant insight into consumption and—if supported—export/solar feed-in.
- Integrations: the readings can be forwarded to your own system or smart home platform.
